The Tim McGraw-Curb Records courtroom drama continues.
Curb has filed a lawsuit against Tim and his current label, Big Machine, in federal court, claiming copyright infringement and breach of contract. Curb also sued Tim in Tennessee state court, but Curb has failed to keep Tim from recording new music with Big Machine.
In the lawsuit, Curb asks for a return of master recordings, compensatory and punitive damages, and an injunction against future recording or releases until the Curb contract with Tim has been fulfilled. The state case remains in front of a judge, but the court allowed Tim to record for a new label in a decision that’s been upheld on appeal.
Big Machine released his new album Two Lanes of Freedom in February. The tour of the same name kicks off Thursday in Birmingham, Alabama with Love and Theft and Brantley Gilbert opening.
