Robin Thicke's mother doesn't like that her son is being called disrespectful to women.
Singer and actress Gloria Loring appeared on Wednesday's "Access Hollywood Live" to defend her son against feminist critics, who've called Robin out on the nudity in the controversial video for his hit "Blurred Lines."
When the topic came up, Gloria rejected the notion, saying "Excuse me, he's been with the same woman for 20 years," explaining that he and wife Paula Patton "met when they were 16-years-old." As further evidence, Gloria added that "You won't keep a woman like [her], if you don't respect women."
Patton, as well as Robin's father "Growing Pains" actor Alan Thicke, have both spoken publicly in defense of the singer.
The controversy surrounding the song certainly isn't hurting it on the charts. "Blurred Lines" is enjoying its eleventh consecutive week at number one on the Hot 100.
