The ladies took the spotlight on American Idol last night. Brandy Neelly, who has worked her way through Hollywood for four seasons now, saw her dream slip away yet again. So did Austin Wolfe, Jillian Jensen, Andrina Brogden and Kenz Hall, who looked early on like a potential contender for this season's crown. There were alot of first night jitters, but NO voting by America for the semi-finalists as the judges yanked that option.
The 5th annual Down by Downtown Music Festival
is set for April 24 - 26 in Elmwood Park featuring G Love and Special Sauce from Philadelphia, along with 40 other performers. It will be the first major event at the new amphitheater. The festival will run in conjunction with the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon. Tickets on sale March 4. More
Jimmy Fallon's debut as 'Tonight' host draws 11.3 million viewers. It was the second biggest audience for "Tonight" since May 2009 when Jay Leno stepped down for Conan O'Brien's brief run as host. However, Fallon fell short after 14.6 tuned in to see Jay on his last night Feb 6.
The Nielsen company said Tuesday that the "Today" show had more viewers than ABC's "Good Morning America" for the first week of the Sochi Olympics. 'Today' had 6.22 million viewers to GMA's 6.01.

Sam Champion is readying his new Weather Channel morning program, set to debut March 17, entitled "America's Morning Headquarters with Sam Champion," or, for short, "AMHQ." The three-hour broadcast will air weekdays at 7 - 10A with Mike Bettes and Maria LaRosa along side him.
