Penske Racing has felt the wrath of NASCAR, and drivers Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano have both been dealt a serious blow- a loss of 25 points!
NASCAR said the parts they confiscated from the No. 2 and No. 22 cars driven by Keselowski and Logano were illegal; they had not been approved prior to Saturday's Texas Speedway race. With the loss of 25 points, Keselowski drops from second in the point standings to fourth.
How ironic that just two days ago [on Tuesday], Keselowski was shaking hands with President Obama and being honored at the White House for his success as the defending Sprint Cup Series champion. And now NASCAR has made it pretty certain that Keselowski will not regain that honor again this season.
The owners of the No. 2 and No. 22 cars were also docked 25 points and seven crew members were suspended.
Penske Racing plans to appeal the penalties.
