Don't forget to check dresses at discount stores, like TJ Maxx. We found a great gown for $80. And don't be afraid to borrow a dress from a friend. Our daughters needed formal dresses for prom and college dances; they didn't mind lending them to friends after their big night.
Instead of having make-up, hair and nails done professionally, host a pre-party where the girls help each other get ready. It’s free and fun. Another tip: Take your own photos, instead of buying them from a professional photographer.
