The man charged with abducting missing Nelson County teen, Alexis Murphy, 17, was in court today for a bond hearing. The Judge denied bond for Randy Taylor.
Randy Taylor's attorney, Michael Hallahan argued that Taylor is on probation and is not a flight risk. Still, Taylor will remain in jail. His next court appearance had been set for a preliminary hearing which was scheduled for January 9. However, Taylor waived his right to the preliminary hearing. The case will now go to a grand jury and is scheduled for September 26th at 9:30 a.m.
Taylor, shown above during his advisement hearing, has been held without bond since being charged with Alexis's abduction on August 11.
The FBI, State Police and Nelson County Sheriff's Office have been diligently searching, questioning, and sharing photos with people along the 29 corridor, including businesses, in the hopes of finding Alexis, shown right. Alexis is a senior at Nelson County High School.

According to ABC 13, officials took a casting of tire tracks found on the property on Monday, but the tracks did not match Randy Taylor’s truck, which is in police custody. They continue to search the 500 acre property in Nelson County, but are not revealing details of their search. ABC 13 is not revealing the exact location of the property, though one news outlet said it was off of Route 56 in Nelson County.
Law enforcement and Alexis’s parents encourage anyone with information regarding the teen's disappearance to contact the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department at 434-263-7050.
